Juz 3 of the Quran (which spans from Surah Al-Baqarah 2:253 to Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:92) contains numerous divine instructions. Here are ten key commandments from Allah Almighty found in this section:
1) Be steadfast in spending for the sake of Allah
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven ears, in every ear a hundred grains…” (Al-Baqarah 2:261) Allah encourages charity and promises immense rewards for those who give sincerely.2) Do not invalidate your charity by boasting or harm
“O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders or injury…” (Al-Baqarah 2:264) Charity should be given with sincerity, not for showing off or hurting others.3) Avoid interest (riba) as it leads to destruction
“Those who consume interest will stand (on Judgment Day) like those driven to madness by Satan’s touch…” (Al-Baqarah 2:275) Interest-based dealings are strictly forbidden, and Allah warns of severe consequences.4) Fear the Day of Judgment and prepare for it
“And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah. Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be wronged.” (Al-Baqarah 2:281) Believers should be mindful of their actions, as they will be held accountable.5) Fulfill contracts and avoid deception
“O you who have believed, fulfill (all) contracts…” (Al-Ma’idah 5:1, but similar principles are found in Juz 3) Honest dealings and fulfilling commitments are part of faith.6) Have strong faith in Allah in times of difficulty
“Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.” (Al-Baqarah 2:286) Trust in Allah and perseverance through trials are essential for a believer.7) Seek help through patience and prayer
“O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” (Al-Baqarah 2:153) Salah (prayer) and patience are key to overcoming difficulties.8) Do not take disbelievers as close allies against believers
“Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers…” (Aal-e-Imran 3:28) Muslims should prioritize their unity and avoid relying on those who oppose their faith.9) Be firm and do not lose hope in trials
“And do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are (true) believers.” (Aal-e-Imran 3:139) Allah commands believers to remain strong in faith and not lose heart in difficulties.10) Follow the Prophet ﷺ and obey Allah for success
“Say, (O Muhammad), ‘If you should love Allah, then follow me, so Allah will love you and forgive your sins…'” (Aal-e-Imran 3:31) Loving Allah requires following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. These instructions provide a moral, spiritual, and social framework for believers, guiding them toward righteousness, patience, unity, and accountability.
